Home grooming station checklist

Lighting, power, dryer placement, cleanup and safe access.

Choose a calm, level location

Set the table on a firm floor with room on every working side. Keep doorways, stairs, children and other animals out of the immediate handling area.

Separate water, power and airflow

Plan safe outlets and cable routes for clippers or dryers, following each appliance’s guidance. Keep wet cleanup away from electrical bases and avoid blowing loose hair into vents.

Prepare before the dog arrives

Place tools, towels and approved cleaners within reach so the dog is never left alone. Plan the supervised route onto and off the table and remove trip hazards first.
